Timonen may not win the Masterson, but he should be given the Barry Ashbee Trophy.

With each Lightning loss, the draft pick keeps getting better and better!
They've gone in the proverbial tank since they acquired Coburn.

Or maybe it's the fact that Coburn, Garrison, and now Hedman are all out. They were actually 4-0 in the games where they got Coburn until he got hurt.

The pick doesn't really get any better until they get eliminated tho. I still have them going pretty far in the East.

A first round upset would be tremendous though.

If Montreal gets ousted in the first round, that's likely a 27-30 pick.

Well done by Schultz, Zepp and PEB for their perseverance. It's gotta be tough at times.

That's crazy talk. Coburn's dragged the whole team down with his suckage.

Even when he's watching a game on tv, goals against are his fault.

Now he will have the power to say yes or no to Hockey Canada for the Worlds, but the federation undoubtedly would like him to play.

I'm already a huge fan of Claude Giroux, but if he were to say "No" to Canada and then, tweet out a picture of himself playing ball hockey right afterwards, that would be the all time troll move.

I wish he could pull a Brett Hull and play for the USA. Stupid IIHF "one country" rules.

He could do a WWF style heel turn on Canada.....tearing off a red jersey with a Maple Leaf on it to show the USA jersey with this emblem on the front:

How the hell is Dave Andreychuk not in the Hockey Hall of Fame? I don't care how many games you play, 640 goals is pretty damn impressive.

Wow, I did not know that. That is criminal. Up until a few years ago I would say he is the Burt Blylevin of hockey.

Second most NHL games played prior to winning a Stanley Cup. Only Ray Bourque played more.

The only possible reason I can think of is that he only ever scored 50 goals once, and he was never a big assist man. He just had a ton of 30+ goal seasons early on but never scored 30 past the 94/95 season. Still, that many goals for that many seasons is a feat few can match.

That's really cool of Schultz. Takes a discount to ensure his family's security. He's had a helluva season too which is awesome. Happy to see him back next year.

I guess technically he scored 54 in 93-94 between Buffalo and Toronto. Then scored 53 for Toronto the following season. I think that counts as twice. And he had more assists than goals: 640 goals, 698 assists.

I would say no matter what, he deserves to be there.

I'm sort of expecting Tampa to pick in the 28 to 30 range tbh.

It will be interesting to see how people react if that happens.

If the pick is the 28th I'm not so sure the better deal wasn't the three 2nd rounders Edm offered two years ago...

Okay, you're right, he did hit 50 twice. And he does deserve it.

And I didn't mean to say he didn't get assists. But even when you look at the big point guys like Messier, Jagr, Yzerman, Lemieux, Sakic, etc. they usually end up with a lot more assists than goals, instead of close to a 1-1 ratio. It's the pure snipers like Hull/Ovechkin/Bossy who don't rack up the assists as much (which is fine).
